Andrew you are right but it is worse than you say. It is not governments that are the problem it is Plutocrats who get their money by getting easier and cheaper access to new money created by the government. This arises because wealthy people buy money at par while small business people pay a surcharge that often doubles the cost purchased.

It turns out that individual banks in Australia could generate electronic cash where if you buy a dollar it costs a dollar, not two dollars. Not too sure the Federal Reserve in the USA will let that happen but while we have compulsory proportional representational voting we might still do it. the
