There is another way to address the problem and that is to fix the Free Market and make it a Free and Fair Market. Do this by requiring Consolidators to share their profits with Consumers by using Community Capital and putting Consumers onto the governing boards of these organisations.
Markets in the modern world are relatively free but rarely fair. We can make them free and fair by giving buyers what they purchase. The cost of goods is the cost to produce, including capital cost. There is also a separate profit. Buyers receive the goods, but they do NOT receive any of the profits. Profits become Capital, and so buyers pay for new Capital. In return, they should buy old Capital in the business. To make it fair, they are required to buy Capital of half the value of the new Capital created. (It doesn't cost them anything as they are already paying for it).
Turn Markets into Free and Fair Markets by giving buyers what they pay for.
