We are very interested in what you are doing as we are doing something similar for solar panels. https://www.one.prepower.com.au/ We have a lot to learn from your experience. I have enrolled to participate in one of your seminars (one idea we may copy:)
Our objectives and approach are similar. The main difference is our Co-operatives are non-distributing Co-ops (i.e. Not-for-profit). This means they have to distribute surpluses to members. We distribute the surplus to members by providing electricity at a discount. The discount applies whether they are consuming electricity or supplying Capital to purchase the panels.
Having a single way to give monetary returns to members reduces complexity and removes costs. The savings increase the surplus and it means consumer members get electricity at a lower cost and investor members get a high fair return on investment. It means who owns the panels is not critical. We have chosen for the Co-op to own the panels but the dwelling occupier could own them and the Co-op could have a permanent lien on the panels.
